Dr. Dickinson arrived in Calgary in November 2002, after five years in Hong
Kong. Previously he held various academic Family Medicine positions in
Australia. He has taken over some of Mike Tarrant's work, including his teaching
practice at University of Calgary Medical Clinic at North Hill.

Sandy is a PhD student in epidemiology at the University of Calgary, and has a
M.Sc. in Health Behavior from the University of Waterloo. She comes to the
TARRANT program with many years of experience in health care research and
working with physicians.

Karen graduated from an office administration program and spent the past eight
years working in Family Medicine assisting with research management, designing
data collection tools for analysis of various research projects. Karen has
stepped into Maxine Andersen's role in her work for Tarrant.

Craig completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology at the University of
Guelph. He moved to Alberta in 2008 to start his graduate training with the
Department of Community Health Science at the University of Calgary. His
interests include infection transmission and surveillance with a particular
focus of hospital acquired infections.

Leah graduated with a degree in Microbiology at the University of Victoria. She
recently moved to Calgary to begin a Master of Science in epidemiology. Her
interests are in infectious disease epidemiology, especially with regards to
prevention through vaccination. She also enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and
skiing.
